Years ago, while getting suckered into timeshare, I came across a great Time Share Salesman. I sat there with 15-20 others listening to this man tell us why we needed to invest in their points. He said, "Ask someone what they got for Christmas 5 years ago and they won't remember. Ask that person where they've been and they'll tell you a story." That's when it hit me. I've spent so many years confined to my neighborhood and city that it became comfortable. I only knew my 5 boros. I needed that to change. I wanted to see the world. I wanted to experience as much as I could before my time was up.

Years later I wanted to make sure that those whom I care about, and are in my close circle, were able to join us on our adventures and experience much more than what they were used to. I was very fortunate to have the chance to travel. Two years ago I contracted the COVID virus and was hospitalized with blood clots in my lungs. I didn't know if I was going to make it. Each night I'd fall asleep wondering if I'll ever wake up again. Unable to see my family and friends, it really damaged my soul. When I got better over time, I realized that being able to travel and spend it with the ones I love and care about was the ultimate great feeling.

This is why I created Down to Vacay. It is a chance for everyone who visits this site to get information and ideas from past vacations and up to date info on future ones. Not just from us, but from other users who have experienced said vacay as well. Down to Vacay also allows users who join to create their own profile and groups. Maybe some time in the future you decide you'd like to go to Cuba. You can create a private group and send out those invites. Your personal space for your group in preparation for the best trip of your life. Down to Vacay was created to bring our family and friends together to share experiences from the travels we go on. And then some.
